Havre Rentals :: Welcome to Havre, Montana
Havre is located at the middle point of the Montana Hi-Line 30 miles south of the Canadian border. Havre is the largest city on the Hi-Line and the eighth largest city in Montana. It serves as a transportation hub for the railroad and a wholesale distribution and retail center for communities within 150 miles. Farming and ranching form the economic base for this agricultural community.

Railroad executive James Hill (September 16, 1838 – May 29, 1916) is commemorated in the sculpture at left in front of the Havre railroad station. He was the the chief executive officer of the Great Northern Railway which served this area.
The sculpture below is also found at the Havre railroad station. It is called "U.S. – Canada Friendship" and is adjacent to Great Northern steam locomotive #2584 on permanent display at the station, with Amtrak's Empire Builder train behind it.
Havre is the county seat for Hill County named after James Hill.

Activities
Havre Beneath the Streets is a tour available for individuals and groups. Pictured below is an historic barber shop that is part of the tour.
A fire swept through Havre in 1904 and destroyed the wooden structures which Havre's businesses occupied. Business owners re-opened their businesses in the basements of their buildings to keep their business running while waiting for their buildings to be rebuilt above ground.
